meet your photographer
Hi!
I'm Mary Clark. I am first and foremost a Christ follower, a wife, and a homeschool mom. I am also an adoptee, and a hopeful adoptive momma. I love to paint and bake and read to my kids. And of course, I am also the creator & photographer behind Lagniappe Photography.
My background
I graduated with a BFA in fine art & photography from Clemson quite a few years ago (we won't say exactly how many - but there was a darkroom involved). After graduation, I started working with fine art photography, and then slowly moved into portraiture work, and then weddings. I spent over a decade photographing the most wonderful couples and families. I absolutely LOVE photography, and it is such a great joy to get to know so many families and make lots of friends in the process! My absolute favorite thing is getting to know families and walk beside them through different life stages, capturing their precious memories.
Where have you been?!
A few years back, I set aside my photography business (psalm27creative) when I felt the Lord calling me to. I wasn't sure what He had for me at that time, but I soon found out...homeschooling (something I said I would NEVER do - ha!). It has been a wonderful, and necessary, break as our family began our homeschool journey. We started out with a kindergartener and now have a 5th, 3rd, and 1st grader. We also had a big move during this time, and have been able to slowly adjust to life in SC. I'm so thankful for the time I've had to just focus on homeschooling. But I've REALLY missed photography!
What now?
I am now re-launching my photography business here in SC, with a sole purpose - to raise funds for our adoption! I will be taking a very limited amount of weddings, portrait sessions, and mini-sessions over the next 1 - 2 years, as we walk out our adoption calling.
ALL funds raised through my photography - every penny - will go towards our adoption expenses. And when our adoption has concluded (Lord willing) I hope to continue doing photography as a means to bless other adopting families, orphan care organizations, and pro-life pregnancy centers.
